On and Off Project Done

Elephant!

I forget why this project came about but I do remember seeing it on etsy and thinking, "I can do that!"

That thought was about a year ago and for about a year all I had was a elephant body. It was a tricky sew, all by hand because its hard to lug sewing machines all over and I find something peaceful in hand sewing.

But this morning I woke up intent on finishing it.

I suppose after cleaning up the night before, Its eyeless eyes blinking up at me, the urge to finish the job came upon me. Not only did he get eyes, but he got ears and a tail! I had a blue green and yellow tail but it just didn't work, so pink it had to be. Even though I usually hate pink, it worked with it.

Also, I understand elephants have wrinkles, but I did need to iron the ears so they wouldn't get too fluffy.

Only thing is, no name for him yet.

On to the next project... finally facing up to using this awesome fabric...

One of a kind, and if you find it, please tell me because I'd love to work  with more.
